""Waiting for Green Day to pull a Dookie pt. 2 or American Idiot pt. 2" I think the only way we'll get the latter is if Trump becomes president"
I want both of those things so I ain't complaining tbh
@Cl0ver: Nine million, jesus christ.

To be fair, if green day did come up with a dookie pt. 2, at this point in their career it would be a 3.5 tops, couldn't expect much more than that tbh.

i think bille was aware there wasnt even that much to politcally tear at anymore because then the album kind of dissolves into your typical ballad out-of-place thematic affair like See the Light and Last Night On Earth

I'm pretty sure Chinese Democracy costed $13 mil total. If not I mean it's still to this day the most expensive album ever produced
I could get behind GD getting political again but as shown in the trilogy, it'd be very cringe inducing if I had to hear mid life crisis aged Billie singing about jacking off and hitting trees

Green Day should make American Idiot Pt. 2 a war on the toxic culture of political correctness; they could pull it off, it'd be pretty damn inspired and a fun listen.

Yeah, plus he tried to make it so overly 'epic' with the three acts and a storyline that was harder to follow and made way less sense that the AI storyline.

I think 'Invincible' from michael jackson cost a bit more, though.

" they could pull it off"
have you HEARD kill the dj? billie couldnt say shit without regressing into a kotakuinaction level manchild. either hes out of touch with us dirty millennials or he panders too hard to whatever fanbase still exists.

has a 21cb storyline ever actually been explained? or did green day just kinda say there was one, came up with act names, and the occasional song lyric that potentially connects to the rest of the album?
|

Oh shit you're actually right Invincible costed between 25-30 mil... I have to search for that list that got featured a month or two back now to verify this stuff

I think if GD released Cigs and Valentines they might have disappeared.

They themselves said that Cigarettes and Valentines was nowhere near as good as American Idiot
|

of course they would've and of course it wasnt as good. but if they could find it, as fanservice they should release it in the future

At this point in time I'd much rather see Eros released then Cigarettes and Valentines
|
| |
Of course they say cigs and valentines wasn't as good as this, it wouldn't have made em as much $$$$$.
