Well I mean a 3.5 is a fine score for me. And true, I might get around to checking those.

"Not really. Only fans will understand Adore."

Adore was the 2nd Smashing Pumpkins album I heard and I understood it well. Plus "Ava Adore" is like beloved by everything. total 4.5.

Basically anything from their 90s stuff is golden, anything from their 2000s stuff is ignorable.

My TSP ranking is harsh actually haha.

I never said I didn't like Adore, or Machina I. I only said they weren't quite as essential.

Plus, I think both of those have their blah moments. I prob like Machina I a bit more than Adore though; I don't think the industrial experiment suited Corgan as well as the rock n' roll did. If I want to hear industrial or electronica, I can put NIN or Depeche Mode or some other shit.

That being said, most of Adore is good.

Haha I hate Machina I. I gave it a 1.5. Most of the songs are ugh. Heavy Metal Machine specifically is completely unlistenable.

I need to recheck Machina II and give Zeitgeist a proper listen.

I remember really disliking the former.

The incessant whining on the album was put 10 fold. So many of the songs sounded derivative of each over.

"Heavy Metal Machine" was just straight up awful and unlistenable.

"The Everlasting Gaze" and "Age of Innocence" are the only reason I don't have it as a 1 since they're unique and okayish.

Album has easily Corgan's best vocal melodies and their best production too

Stand Inside Your Love and Glass and the Ghost Children are two of their absolute best songs
