inferior to Suicide Season.
This album could have been so much more they had a lot of interesting things going on in the first few tracks but there is quite a bit of filler on this.

suicide season may have been musically awful but was fun
this is musically better but not fun, so therefore is a rather unfavorable listen. They do fun well, musical ingenuity not so much...

how the fuck are people giving this a 4.5 because i've listened to it and while i do enjoy this band a bit and they did progress a bit with this album there are still plenty of flaws.

That will just highlight the genre to the mainstream and create some disgustingly digestable and ultimately awful form of the genre that will thrive in the mainstream rock press for a decade or so and sputnik will become bitter.

Post-rock and metal. What an unlikely combination!
Maybe if this was 1992 and the Cult of NeurISIS didn't exist.

will be a glorious day when they BMTH believes they invented post-metal. May be good for other bands in the genre though because it would make it more popular.
