I really enjoyed it actually. But holy shit it was gruesome. Listening to this and taog while reading it was kinda cool.

i thought it was kind of cheesy to be honest. it just seemed like pure, outrageous brutality for the most part (i mean, between everyone getting beheaded or having hands cut off or slaying their own children or getting raped, it was ok) and aaron didn't have any of the substance of any other big shakespeare villain. plus, there was that random scene where the clown got killed.

It is a tad on the sensationalist side of things as, I agree, there are quite a few scenes where it is just violence for violence's sake. But I really enjoyed the feel of the play. It was so different than his other tragedies, I've read, as it lacks all comedic elements that are found in his other tragedies. This is just dark and dreadful and you know from the first scene nothing good is going to happen.
