hehe. Well, let me explain. I've tried many times to appreciate Dirge for November it for what it is, let it sink in to the feel and progression for the album and all that, but it just sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It's one of the few Opeth songs (along with Credence) that I can barely stand to listen to. The last couple minutes of Leper Affinity seem overly dramatic and delay my enjoyment of Bleak, whcih is perfect. Harvest is good for the first 3 minutes then gets repetitive (unlike Benighted which remains fresh throughout). Drapery Falls is too long for what it's doing, though still very good. Patterns is useless, Funeral Portrait, though it grew on me, still feel fairly average by Opeth standards, and the title track's soft break makes the song longer than it needs to be.

baying of the hounds is better

That song definitely doesn't get enough love, I think it's awesome, but not quite as good as GoP.

Maybe the elite number of comments and the mentioning of Credence is telling us something of the elitery associated with that particular song. Or something.

^^^Hey, you've clearly stolen my ten dollar word, give it back.

I don't know, it just doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the for me. Maybe that's the point though, either way, I don't feel it.

Actually, I like demon of the fall, but never so what was so overwhelmingly awesome about it (I know, the blasphemy continues lol). I just don't like Credence cause it's boring and sounds really out of place.
