Yeah it makes me giggle all the time. But really, I've rec'd this to at least 10 people in my immediate circle of friends and all of them but one thought it was the greatest thing ever. Because it is. I'll listen to Crater once more in a little while and pay special attention to the guitar and see if I agree with you though. All of the tracks are so close that it is pretty irrelevant to argue over anyways though.

Ehh. Is there anything that makes it not a 5 for you? Or is it just lacking that emotional attachment and connection that most people have to make with an album to make it a 5? I'm just curious as to your thought patterns. I'll make sure to pay extra close attention to it. I can't believe I missed it though I listen to this at least 2-3 times a week.

I'd definitely reccomend:

Saetia- A Retrospective

Hot Cross- Cryonics

Touche Amore- ... To The Beat Of A Dead Horse

Pianos Become The Teeth- Old Pride

Pg.99- Document #8

City of Caterpillar- Self Titled

I don't know a whole lot about the genre of emo, there is stuff I'm definitely learning about it every week but this is definitely one of the most solid and well constructed albums I've ever heard. Everything is just in the perfect place, every transition is smooth, the lyrics are really honest and thoughtful, the instrumentation is strong and flexible at the same time, and the vocals are well delivered with a lot of emotion (duh) and sincerity while Kathy jumps in at the perfect points for emphasis to push everything to the heights that they were aiming at with this album. I guess that is why it is a 5 for me personally.

Yeah no problem. We are in a list hehehe there is just a review at the top and you can see our avatars. I really should explore more emo music...

A soft emo release from this year that I really enjoyed also but forgot to mention was Empire! Empire! (I Was A False Estate)'s new one, What It Takes To Move Forward. I also went back and edited my error from last post hehehe.

this isnt chaotic experimental screamo for the last goddamn time

screamo, in and of itself, is a delicate balance of chaos and beauty, thats what makes it so good

and as for the experimental part, it just takes some post rock motifs and some recurring melodies. nothing new
