Everyone hates the homo, I see how it is. Just cause I want sweet passionate butt-sex from Tom Barber on a moonlit summer night with candles in the room to the tune of the new Darko album I'm a villain I SEE HOW IT IS

This is my first album of them and how awesome it is. I always have a soft spot for metal / -core music with electronic sounds and they mix it so well. A futuristic masterpiece.
After 4-5 days it now is a 4.5 already.

There are tons of genres worse than deathcore.

The worst genre ever is probably CCM but deathcore is pretty bad yeah. These guys are fun though.

There's so many great deathcore albums out there. There's a lot of trash too, but that goes for any genre.
|

Yea you can't write off any genre off a small sample size. I don't dig a lot of indie pop/rock type shit but when it's done right it can absolutely slap. Every genre will have something dope to offer but you have to do the work to get there

they have this great "come down" vibe to them outside of the norms of deathcore that I guess you could call shoegaze but it suits them well, makes sense too because Baby J has been noted to say he doesn't even listen to metal and mostly listens to vastly different genres, one of his favorite artists is Pearly Drops for example

deathcore definitely peaked in the mid 2000s but it still has its moments

fuck Hawks, I should've rec'd Pearly Drops in your review a random album game now that I'm thinking about it

I remember there being a fair amount of good deathcore albums in like 2017-ish, stuff like fit for an autopsy, aversions crown, shadow of intent etc. Also Whitechapel have had a real comeback with their last few albums but I'm biased cause they're one of my favourite bands.
