I think you could make an argument that Pressure the Hinges was the band at their peak, new singer with Stephen but that album just showed so much growth from Burning Bridges and When Everything Falls, which was essentially Burning Bridges 2.0.
Dreamer was good but they lost some steam and personally I feel like Wolf King was great melodically but lost a lot of their rawness that was present through Dreamer and Wolf Kings was more or less an album that reflected where the scene was at the time.
I adore coward as a great culmination of the Jimmy era along with Stephen and the new line up.
New album I think is great in that it hasa modern feel but still emulates the core 00s metalcore song writing and that sound with a more modern polish with some bolder darker themes and melodies.

I think dreamer was my first album by them and remember not liking it that much so I kinda put this band off for a long time even though I know Wolf King got talked about quite often. I dont really remember peoples reception to coward that much. Might try that next though if its top tier.

are you familiar with the jimmy ryan albums? his screams are really unique. idk if you know but him and stephen the lead screamer/singer on this album are both on coward. it's awesome. if you're looking for something a bit more abrasive and heavy, that's the one you're looking for. few songs with jimmy sound like converge. i was relistening to it when this dropped and i'd probably put it above this one by a hair.

I’m biased, I like melodies and breakdowns, I think Pressure the Hinges is the ideal starter album for the band.
From there is you want heavier you can work forward into their catalogue (Jimmy Ryan is a beast on vocals and those records just have a different intensity he brings), if you want more later 00 early 10s metalcore move forward chronologically.
Coward and Dissenter are by far the most mature releases in their catalogue with cowards being a while band effort highlighting all their phases while Dissenter is say is a modern release with the core writing and fundamentals of a 00s metalcore band.
