wow! your right!, you sure did set me straight there!
tbh i think they need a female hardcore vocalist seeing as how tommy always attempts to mimick one,.:This Message Edited On 08.31.08

Eh, different strokes for different folks I guess...
Personally I just think BTBAM's sound would get thrown a little off with a different vocalist. Maybe one of the other guys could write better lyrics though, that would definitely help things.

k guise ill give Ad a Dglgmut another listen, i seem to remember the middle bit being excellent though
|
| |
ah i see the problem, that bit at about 20 seconds, and the same part at about 47 seconds.. almost noise metal, which is a bit much for my ears. but the other heavy parts at the beginning grow on you pretty fast
yep, the middle bit is well worth listening to the rest for
"it all makes sense, were capable of beauty!"
and i'm beginning to like the heavy bits after that too. its a grower then, but imho they could have ended the song better. thats why i love Alaska, just listen to the outro to Backwards Marathon, which has a similar song structure to Ad a Dglgmut (save for the outro of course)

The "noise" plays into the concept of the song. If you don't like the ending I'll just assume you don't like how Selkies ends either, because that song just basically modified the end of Ad A Dglgmut

essentially everything they did after this takes off of this a bit, the intro to Alaska has always reminded me of Aesthetic with glossy production.

The best thing they will ever do. even if tommy's vocals were forced on this album (which they arent anymore).
idk its hard to believe colors and this are by the same band, i kinda wish they could go back to a style like this, but they never will

really? damn, i must have a retarded version of Ad A Dglgmut then. the version i have ends with a brutal grindcore section.

what Seekies ends with a cleaner guitar fading out, and Ad A Dglgmut ends heavy
|
| |
well, i wouldnt call it a cleaner guitar, its still heavily distorted. its playing a very melodic pattern with a higher guitar playing a solo passage repeated over the top... imho the endings of the 2 songs are completely different.

but both are great

because that song just basically modified the end of Fire for a dry motuh

I shouldn't have said end, I meant the end of Selkies to me comes off like the clean parts in Ad A Dglgmut with a "better" solo.

I honestly like this much better than Alaska. idk why, Alaska's great but for some reason when I put it on I can't finish it. But Mordecai and Ad A Dglgmut are my favorites.
|

Both this and Alaska are great, but Alaska is slightly better. And Colors is slightly better than that.

i think this is better than alaska, but colors is definitely their finest moment

If there's two main terms wrongfully tossed around in heavy music, it's "progressive" and "metalcore".
Agreed. However, I think we can all agree that deathcore is wrongfully tossed around way more.

Definitely more Mathcore influence here. Sounds a bit rougher but I think his screams are better on this album than on Alaska. :D
