I'm going to call it - though kaiho has higher peaks, this is their best album front to back. dare I say flawless.

I still can't put it ahead of Sorni Nai, but it's a very, very close second.

Sorni Nai is still this band's crowning achievement imo, but this comes pretty damn close.

It's almost impossible for me to rank even the top 5 in this band's disc cause they're so consistently good. I listened to Pirut the other day for the first time in a while and god damn does that album rule as well.

One of the most consistent bands ever agreed.

honestly i feel sorni nai suffers from having such a strong first half that the second half loses steam. it's not that the second half is bad, far far from it, but it doesn't quite compare.

when i say this is their best album i mean front to back quality. every moment of this one matters and is engaging - i can't pick a favourite track where on sorni nai and kaiho that's pretty easy.

There are so many nuanced elements mixed into each track. Listening to this on headphones was a very rewarding experience. The thought and mastery that went into incorporating all of the different sonic textures is remarkable.

Fantastic atmosphere and sound, not sure about the memorability of the music though.

Saw them this weekend. They played and recorded both Wayhome and Ice Fleet. If the sound is good enough they are going to put it on Youtube in a couple of months.

i get where voivod is coming from - this is a lot gentler and less anthemic than their other works.

I agree with what the others said like the vibes here are immaculate Kauan but not much gripped me in the way of high highs as they have on other albums. I was actually leaning a 3.5 but I caved cause I love this band lol. I figure it will grow

I can see what you mean for sure. Then again, this album really is all about atmosphere and vibes.
