I get COTM was a landmark and great album but comparing it to everything good thats come out this year is getting a bit silly

Jordan is way less whiny on this album. He's just angry asf

Steve is straight out of Somewhere at the Bottom and I love it

Praising the guitars and disliking the vocals is a comment I don't think I could relate to less.

Environmental Catastrophe Film has kind of clicked at another level for me at this point. Hope the whole thing can do that

@izlez ECF is beautiful indeed, best on the album by a great margin.

The rest of the album is not doing it for me, except some sweet guitar parts.

Landlord is incredible

Love that distorted church bell sound at the beginning. Spooky yet strangely comforting.

The lyrics on this are so fucking good man. Jordan is a poet

i think the reason this resonates so deeply is that virtually everyone can identify with his lyrics on this

we're mostly all exhausted, broke and sick of being kicked around by rich people

whereas on their earlier material, if you hadn't explicitly been through what he was writing about, it was harder to understand exactly what he was trying to convey

Got to be honest Scoot, it sounds like you are explicitly going through what he is writing about on this one to help you identify with it. That doesn't mean everyone is.

...That's not to say I don't agree with the message and love his lyrics

which is why i said "mostly" and not just "all"

the people i typically encounter/fall into my circle feel the same way, but i understand not everyone does
