I wasn't necessarily saying the new AF is better, but they seem equally tired to me

Michael is 71 and still creating physically and emotionally demanding art, Win has no excuse to be tired

Boring piece of crap

not sure I'm gonna be able to explore this discog any more with the constant fear in the back of my head that any day it could come out that Mr. Gira engaged in some unseemly sack activities

“this shit just agitates me. I Am a Tower was actually okay”
Yeah, but you’re damaging Swans’ average in the process.

I like that David Bowie - Heroes sounding bit in I Am a Tower. Otherwise I think I don’t like this band anymore. The lyrics and overblown song lengths feel a bit pretentious to me at this point.

Gira's singing during I Am A Tower sounds uncomfortably like my grandpa reciting "The Night Before Christmas" every year.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
Then exit and jet it, spraying foam through the air
When what to my wondering eyes did appear,
Over mountains collapsing, ravaged and speared
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
I'm the best fucking fuck that you never will have!

This has been growing on me with every listen, I just wished the final song of the big sound had been The Merge. What a send off that would have been.
