Whisteria Cottage had one of the most violent crowds I’ve seen to date, they absolutely crushed live

Conducting From the Grave - When Legends Become Dust gotta be mentioned for melocore. Sickest leads from a deathcore band imo

Even though they’re way over on the metalcore side of things, I noticed a lot of similarities between this record and Blind Witness, especially Nightmare On Providence Street. Brought me a lot of joy because I never felt they got enough recognition on the scene at the time

Blind Witness came to mind for me too! That was one of the last deathcore records of the "classic" era I truly loved

Yeah it’s a great record, big fan of their approach being ‘we can do some interesting riffs and shit but also LOOK IT’S SMOOTH BRAIN TIME!’ *chugchugchugbreakdown*

They played the game just right imo

I'd take this over anything I've heard by Salt the Wound tbh

I’ve got a soft spot for MySpace-era deathcore but there’s no way this deserves a 4.5 in my book. Shadow of the Colossus is what I’d call 4.5-tier deathcore, not Thus Spoke Zarathustra. Sure it’s a solid record but I’ve heard this sound done plenty of times before, and done better.

Sheesh! My comment sounded way more negative than I meant it to. This is a really solid album hence the rating. Absolutely loving this whole MySpace-era deathcore comeback. Album kinda gives me Conducting from the Grave - When Legends Become Dust vibes which I checked out for the first time a few weeks ago. Another killer deathcore release!
