Enjoyed Lachryma, Satanized, Cenotaph & Marks of the Evil One. Pretty fun at times. Might grow on me more with another listen down the track. Can see how easily these will fit their live setlist. Love em or hate them, live has an amazing atmosphere with how many people sing along, and get into their outfits & such.

agree that despite it not being their best ballad (He Is… duh) I think it was Fantano that said it’s one of Tobias’ most emotionally charged performances and I totally agree with that. Same with Excelsis

Hawks did you ever like Ghost? Like do you hate even Opus or Meliora? Because honestly I think they’re both two of the best metal records of that decade, Opus less so but still
I know neither are particularly challenging in any way so it can feel a little surface level but I really think Meliora is pretty much perfectly crafted top to bottom. It creates such a dark and foreboding, almost apocalyptic atmosphere and has by far their most creative songwriting. Cirice is legitimately one of my favorite songs ever.
So yeah, my 2c is yes the band has fallen off but they’re still making fun little bops and also put on one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. Every. Single. Time.

The way some of these songs just end really isn't working for me. Give me Lachryma, maybe Satanized as a generic but well written song and Umbra. That's all I need here.
On the bright side Meliora is growing on me a lot. I start to get why people love it so much.
