We all knew Isaac was the only talented person in the band but they didn't have to do this to prove it.

Assuming everyone who’s here now has always been here I’d say no, especially with how diverse the first album is. Hard to see it as the same people now tho. Like this being from the same band who made Sunglasses is genuinely bewildering

I randomly heard one of the older songs from FTFT on a stream and I was zoning out but was like "I liked this??" when it hit the ending which I can only describe as British guy gets louder about his country or something

100% agree with this review. even though the songs aren't really there i see the vision with these guys prob more than i ever have (ants is pretty good, debut is dogwater) and i far prefer these vocals to the former guy. next one feels bound to be the one where this iteration truly "arrives"

What actually good band took four or five albums to ‘arrive’ though?

The Beatles are probably the go-to example here

In terms of escaping the underground and making it as an established international headling act it wasn’t until Green game out.

flaming lips just off the top of my head but like colton said there are so many I can't believe this was a legit question lol

Flaming Lips is a good take, mine was purposefully hot but I’ve never vibed with Hunky (and Man World is decent too, so yeah lol)

Car Seat Headrest, though I'd personally hesitate to call them "good" myself, I think the general consensus is that they (he?) are at least 'good'.

you do understand the numbers 4/5 johnny, can you count?

damn this is a lot to think about but Stereolab & Deerhoof are definitely whack

Honestly if you cut it off at 3 I’d agree with almost all the rest (?) hmm a few based takes. Trophy Scars definitely. I love the Ulver hot-take too
