checked out Sion. This will definitely warrant a few extra spins, for now 3.5 it's very good

They really need to make an album with both Jesse and Howard on vocals. It worked so well on The Signal Fire and a whole album of it would be incredible.

you read my mind, a full album of The Signal Fire would be SO good
|

no clue why they haven't tried that for one album. They all seem on good terms still
|

yeah no clue why they haven't, there has to be a interpersonal reason. it would sell a ton. look at what haste the day did with bringing their two vocalists together for an album, it was fucking awesome.

Honestly up until the release of this I was half expecting this and the Burn Eternal album to be the same release, like a reverse Ape of God situation. They were recorded across roughly the same period and were scheduled for release the same year.
The 20th Anniversary of TEOH has just ticked over and I thought it was kinda odd the band didn’t seem to note it a whole heap given it was arguably their biggest release. But maybe they’re waiting for 2029 for the 25th?
Anyway Broken Glass sounds like Times of Grace with blasties. Don’t know why they bother having two separate projects at this point.

"If anything this band lacks a “oh shit this is insane” album/moment. They’re just consistently great. But also agree they were quintessential/influential af and to say anything otherwise is silly"
On one hand I strongly disagree but the other i do. I disagree becsuse end of heartache has incredible seminal moments but they left off that album with heavy expectations that i felt didnt deliver

Disarm The Descent was a good album, they lost me after that. Bring back Howard

No word on when, just that they’ve begun working on it.
I’m warming up to This Consequence. I still don’t like I Believe.

Dec 24 Adam said it’s mixed and ready for 2025 release, but after this one (presume label didn’t want promo clashes) so I’m probably expecting Q3-4?

Most of the time I’m actually a really big fan of Jesse’s lyrics but yeah some moments on this lean a little into self parody; I Believe being probably the worst. After half a dozen listens I still half expect “Some will say it’s Photoshop” instead of whatever he actually says during that line.

Broken glass is so bad.

Broken Glass is probably my least fave here but I enjoyed how different it felt by KSE standards. Felt like they actually tried a different melodic scale.
