Nice, I'm in the process re-evaluating all the Bodom albums, probably going to change up some ratings. This Message Edited On 08.05.08

I might have to raise this to a 4.5, this is easily their most consistently awesome album.

nah all their other albums I can find at least one song that is definitely weaker than the rest, here they all rule. Imo each song is better than the last here.

This is now my favorite Bodom album. It was Hatebreeder before, but I love the dark atmosphere and energy presented here. In the Shadows and The Nail ****ing slay. I also agree with bodominflames that this is their most consistent album. This one has no weak tracks whereas their other albums have at least one or two.

I love the keyboard/clean guitar break on In the Shadows. Reminds me of Zelda

This album is delicious. They were at their most experimental here and worked fantastically.

I can't believe the band considers "In The Shadows" their worst song, that's easily my favorite song on the album and a contender for my favorite CoB song ever. Their worst I feel is "Punch Me I Bleed".

Not really a COB fan, but this was really just excellent. By far my favourite album by them

(fun fact: the band considers In the Shadows as the worst recorded CoB song ever).

Well they should, I just listened to that and the vocals are absolutely horrific. Although the vox in general don't seem to be that great, either. Thank bejesus for the good guitars!

Agreed. Children of Bodom doesn't deserve the hate they get. Blooddrunk wasn't great, but everything else is pretty awesome.

Yeah there were a few good songs, but everything else ran together and was just really bland.

They really haven't written anything worth listening to since Follow the Reaper. Everything after that album has just been catchy without any kind of real artistic quality to it.
