2 songs into this and I gotta say this has an intensity to it (so far) that's been lacking in the last few albums.

Have listened to this album a couple more times and I’m even more disappointed in it. 50 minutes of music and there’s just very little that sticks with you after hanging up the headphones. It’s not bad but even for modern DT, I expect more. Downgraded from a 3.5 to a 3. I’ve got a deluxe vinyl copy for sale if anyone wants to buy it. Lol

^felt the same. Moment feels more energized and memorable by comparison, which feels weird to say now, since I wasn't particularly crazy about that record when it came out.

“Projector before Damage Done is bold AF”
It’s true tho
But putting Skydancer in the “everything else” category is whack

My take... "Punish My Heaven" and "Edenspring" are classics. The rest of the album is okay.

I'd add The One Brooding Warning as well.

Hell yeah, Projector rules.

Projector was a pretty rough beginning to the clean-vocals era of DT but it kind of slayed too so I'm glad it's getting some love

I actually think this album brings some decent riffs which I haven't said about a DT album in ages.

The rest of the songs on the Gallery are fine, but tbh those 3 are the only ones the I still come back to.

I think this album is fucking awesome. I've been listening to tracks 8-12 continuously as if it's an EP. Love the way all five of those songs flow from start to finish. That spaced out guitar solo in A Bleaker Sun is so damn good, but I just wish it was longer. I almost wish they would make a more progressive album with longer songs and a more even mix of clean and harsh vocals, similar to Scar Symmetry. Another great Dark Tranquillity album IMO.

I would love for DT to take their modern formula and flesh it out to a more progressive angle. Why not even a concept album... throw a 10+ minute song on there that pulls from their Skydancer days. I'd five that. Or go the Insomnium route and just do one huge song. It's time they challenge themselves again.
