You expect people to read not one, but two pages worth of content? You are a fool.

Between the 3 and 3.5 record. The previous one smokes this.

This record isn't strong enough for me to want to die on a hill for it, but I think the complaints about the production are off base (and are emblematic of why armchair musicians/engineers are so goddamn annoying). The production/mix should be whatever best suits the vision of the artist. If that calls for something 'muddy,' then sobeit.

I think this sounds like ass because that's what my ears tell me

idgaf about whatever 'vision' the artist had, fair enough if turned out how they wanted. I just think it sucks

Doesn't mean my opinion holds any weight beyond just being a consumer... not like I'm claiming it matters beyond that

I am just saying, it is weird when people who like kvlt bm and stuff of similar lo-fi calibur and then complain about this. Sometimes, crystal clarity doesn't suit the music as well as less refined production.

Those two styles are very different though. So why couldn't you potentially like one and not the other? This doesn't lack clarity due to being lo-fi because well... it's not

Maybe it is just a personality difference. I don't relate to production issues most of the time.

Ye but this isn't raw or lofi, its just smooshed to hell and sounds like ass in a bad way. I can't stand "raw bm" most of the time for the same reason. Rough production doesn't mean something has to sound like absolute dogshit. There's countless examples of bm, dm, etc with rough production stylings that still sound superb on a good sound system.

I don’t think this is out of the norm in terms of modern production, it sounds very deathcore to me. But I’m not into that recording style. Some bands make brickwalled to shit sound great, though. And again, the clicky af bass drum sound sucks.

Hmmm, that'd be something I want to hear as well.

I wish I could enjoy this more, but I only like "Survival's Careening Inertia". Great intro and a cathartic end!

i feel like they did a secret edit onto the streamable versions of this because the production sounded a little better the last few times i jammed it. the songwriting is so top tier but when i first heard this i felt like the only way i would actually hear the guitar riffs was to learn them, which is not going to happen with how insane Kyle is. i am looking forward to getting this on vinyl to see if the mastering is a little more to my liking. it gives me a headache trying to hear what he's playing and only getting like 60% of it.

also if anybody is a guitarist/huge fan of this band kyle is selling one of his touring Warriors on reverb right now for a great price and is also going to raffle the 27 fret Roehr he recorded all the solos on this album with. the bridge humbucker on the Jackson Warrior is literally battle scarred. this guy is just the sickest fucking guitarist.
