I’m gonna settle on like 3.7 for right now. This is a genuinely sick record… it’s just a couple steps down on the innovation and creativity scale from the last 2 and just genuinely not as well written. I

The chaotic parts do not work with the super clean production, that’s for sure. It’s funny, when they lean into the catchy pop parts it’s the most successful parts of the record but I don’t want this band to be a super clean produced pop band

Best band out there does it again. Stunning masterpiece. Sadly I can't say the same about this review.

That shit definitely drives me crazy a bit in songs like sport of form. It feels like they build to these cool riffs and then they stick around for literally 5 seconds and never repeat

so this fucking rules. the drummer is killing it the whole time. I also don't get people calling this a pop record, it's really not.

The nasty bass section in Sport of Form being 7 seconds long feels like such a missed opportunity

That’s like the exact part I’m talking about, for them to play that for 4 seconds and then immediately cut. How many times do they transition with only vocals or only vocals/one other instrument in that song alone? It seems so disjointed and lazy

Yea this is just supremely boring unfortunately, nothing of note going on across the whole thing basically. Every time my ears are perked by a neat sounding riff or passage, it's immediately dropped lol. This is a 41 minute album that feels over an hour long

I hear the strokes in Tony’s vocals and the way they are produced when they have a filter on them but this really does not sound like the strokes at all outside of that. Like please point me in the direction of any strokes songs with harsh noise walls and blast beats in them

I don't gotta point you anywhere pal, many passages (no not the harsh parts or blast beats lol come on man) gave me the strokes vibes is all I'm saying

There's some Strokes in places here for sure, and not just the vocals
