We have spotify streaming nonsense to thank for this, sadly. I like Morgan, but he's so hawkish about streaming numbers. Artists are currently incentivized to 20+ track albums filled with songs of slightly shorter duration.

New album is solid. This is probably his worst. Dangerous is prob his best a legitimately good double album

Oh 100%. No reason a Wallen album needs to be 37 songs long (his new album is). But ya know what, let em.
And the whiskey, dirt road, truck schtick is tired, but a lot of people (myself included) kind of like that dumb turn-your-brain off music sometimes. It’s simple which can sometimes be what i need. My girlfriend also fucking loves country so I’ve kinda given it the benefit of the doubt lately and I’m starting to like it

I don’t mind country music at all, but Wallen’s brand of ultra-polished, genre-hopping mush is just not for me. It’s neither authentic enough to scratch the country itch nor interesting enough to rival what the best pop and rap artists have to offer.
