Reefa, you gotta hear MJ Lenderman’s albums too, so many great guitar tones on his stuff as well.

I've checked out Boat Songs before but not a huge fan of his vocals. It's ok though

Ah fair enough.
Anyways, perfect as “Bull Believer” is, the run of tracks from “Chosen to Deserve” through “Turkey Vultures” is also incredible, as good as any I expect to find this year. “Hot Rotten Grass Smell” is such a great track to play on repeat too, at first I somewhat dismissed it as just a rave-up to “Bull Believer” but now I love it in its own right too.

I think a couple of others have said this, but the last two tracks let me down here. They're not bad, but that run up to Turkey Vulture is so incredible and the last two songs don't really give me closure. Every time I finish this I'm surprised it's done.

“but nobody can convince me three minutes of warble shouting "finish him" like a 7 year old who is throwing a fit to get a toy in a supermarket is something I need to hear more than once”
Bull believer floored me the first time I heard it, but honestly I agree. As much of a cathartic song it is, you have one studio recording to put on the album and those are the best screams she could come up with?

The screams were completely spur of the moment and only one take lol, polishing them would completely defeat the purpose

I don't want them to be taken out or more polished. I want them to actually sound like there's some intensity behind them lol

nice avy

Agreed! There are a couple moments in the screams where it does it for me, but the rest and the buildup feel so lacking in some weird way that it felt practiced and unconvincing to me. However, that’s just my feeling and not anything to actually do with the band

"The screams were completely spur of the moment "
I kinda doubt that despite whatever they're saying. Anyway, I stand by it, they go on too long and kill the replay value of the song. Time will tell.

it is my most replayed song on the album lol get rekt

Yeah I played “Bull Believer” over 20 times as a single before the album was released and it’s lost none of its replay value even now.
