fwiw phoebe is a far stronger lyricist than hayley. she leans too heavily on certain tropes and is definitely too indulgent at points, but there's so much more imagination behind her imagery and she at least sounds like a depressed young adult

the gap between them when hayley crossed over to comparable subject matter on her solo stuff was clear as day
