‘Crocodile Dundee, knocking out front teeth’ is the most random throwback reference I’ve heard this year

My first JID album and what a banger. Dance Now lives rent free in my head. Kody Blu 31 is a great example of a rapper taking risks and surprising their audience too, his vocals are great in that song. His constant switch up of his flow is incredible throughout the whole album. I'd say the only skips on this are Money and Can't Make U Change, but the switch up at the end of Can't Make U Change is great and makes it worth a listen. Think this overtake Melt my Eyez as my album of the year.

I cannot understand how JID is so fucking good at rapping and yet not magnetizing in the least. This is actually a chore to get through
15 song album with only 5 enjoyable tracks that are mostly enjoyable because of the features. JID himself is easily the worst part of this album which is really really sad.

I think the album length made it a slog to get through first few listens and the fact all the quick to love bangers were at the front didn’t help but I’m definitely not having JID being the worst part of the album and not ‘magnetic’.
I felt this was a really personal album, especially songs like Crack Sandwich, Brudanem and Sistanem and I think his storytelling and big variety of flows make him very engaging throughout.

I literally cannot think of a single memorable bar that JID himself said on this album. It's just not good. By far the worst project he's ever dropped. The beats were not helping either, whoever produced this did a horrible job on the beats. "Just In Time" in particular might be the single worst beat I've heard all year, but Lil Wayne still skated on it at least.

The only reason I have this at a 2.5 and not a 2 is because JID is a great rapper, his breath control and flows are impressive enough that even the worst songs are at least ok. But this is bad by JID standards. Really bad.
Probably the biggest issue is that JID doesn't have anything worthwhile to say. There's maybe 2 songs on here with actual content, the rest are just rapping to rap like he's Eminem.

Depends what you think is worthwhile I suppose. When Eminem ran out of stuff to say all he did was say how he was the greatest, he hated certain people or groups of people and he was a murderer. The biggest theme on this album is about family and bonds with people who he grew up with.

That’s so wild that you don’t think anything off this lyrically is worthwhile to me but I also lurked your 5s and found Mac Miller so we probably just have different taste

This album is a bag of potato chips. It might taste good but there's nothing of substance within. Ironically substances also killed Mac Miller.

Wasn't sure if this was really gonna be for me but damn Crack Sandwich kinda rules
