This band is more on the sludge and post metal side maybe, idk. And it has some hardcore reminescents, so yeah the metalcore tag would fit if this wasn't so dense. There's also a lot of death metal (more in here than Mire) pulling us back to Opeth mid era, and of course black metal aspects all over the place (blast beats and high pitch vocals). And now how do they put all these in one single vibe/ ID is the most impressive. Other point is how they still make it to be this emotional and pure/genuine is beyond my reach and rare as fuck nowdays. Stay tuned on Conjurer mates!

Edit: Okay, maybe I just said this is very good metalcore lol

After the third listen, I'm not sure if I prefer it over Mire or not. Mire is a 4.5 for me and this will likely be the same. Also been revisiting their first EP which is very strong and shouldn't be missed.

It’s a sizeable to decent step up yes, and anyone confused should revisit both until they’re less confused by the ordeal.

I listened to Mire a fair amount and enjoyed it, but there was a ceiling, one which this seems to have broken through after 2 spins 😄

I think D3 touched on an important point, this covers a lot of ground yet it’s absurdly cohesive, to the point you almost forget their pulling ideas from different influences

They grab the best from a handful of genres and merge them together. Few others are on that level right now in the realm of metal.

No way bro, I still jam Mire to this day and its awesome. This is just as awesome. Wouldn't be a surprise if it lands in about the same avg. Probably 0.1 or 0.2 above. Mire starts really fantastic but some simply do not value enough that amazing back half. You need to stick to it to take it.

Ya I’m not seeing the “huge step up” from Mire on this. Both are consistently excellent although I may still prefer Mire just slightly.
