You mentioned that you thought kendrick went from deadnaming and misgendering his fam in the first half of auntie diaries and then used the correct names and genders in the second half to show his growth and acceptance and I thought that was as a somewhat convincing touch in regards to whether or not the song lands its good intentions, but I’ve listened a few more times with that in mind and if I’m not mistaken he misgenders them pretty much the whole song with the only exceptions being in like… verse 2 randomly..
