Instrumentally it's a damn fun time but Andy's cleans knock off some serious points for me. If he had used them sparingly and really gone in with his harsh range this could have been fantastic imo.

Just like their last album.... I had hype, dug the singles...
and then the whole thing just didn't leave a big impression.

Its ok, maybe it will grow on me, but its no Amanuensis

I don't know how a good song is supposed to be written, but it's like they lined up the riffs and then let Andy sing something in between. We take it apart to praise those parts. But can't really be won over by most of the songs.

In summary: riffs are great, singer is good. songs are forgettable.

I pos'd because your review was vivid and funny, which really managed to sell the record. Powerful marketing techniques.

I was vibing throughout the first 5 tracks (not a fan of the clean vocals tho), but after 5 tracks I lost interest in listening to the rest. Started feeling stale and I assume the rest of the album sounds pretty similar

Amanuensis and Phronesis were growers, so hopefully this one is too. A little bit more accessible than their previous ones but if it gets them sales I'm happy for them.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Right now I'd say I rank their albums...

Amanuensis>Phronesis>In Stasis>Gnosis.

I know that's kind of a hot take but there are some serious bangers on Phronesis. The lyrics are half-baked but the riffs are really solid.
