I really like this album, it really grew on me. I wasn't impressed at first but I also heard it shortly after hearing 4 of their classics in a row (hell awaits, reign in blood, south of heaven then seasons in the abyss), so the bar was set pretty high. Now I love listening to the unique sound they had on this record. Only bad part of album to me is the production and mixing. A remaster would be amazing! Also, your review is rediculous. First you state that it's better than "South Of Heaven" which is retarted, then you say it's a step up in drumming compared to SOH which is arguably Slayer's greatest and possibly metal's greatest drum performance album. Total blasphemy.

"Killing Fields" is riff central

I think the terrible production suits this. This was the last of their albums where Kerry didn't spew Bullshit 12 year old fedora lyrics about "rly hating god"

This one has some of their best lyrics. Pretty cool to see them talk about philosophy and politics.

I preferred their war, politics and serial killer lyrical content. My understanding was that Jeff penned all the good shit.

The material here never sinks in as their stone cold classics, but it's got a ton of replay value imo. Always liked it since my first listen and find myself liking as much as then.

Honeslty I think like half of this riffs really hard. Dig the proggy riff changes and sudden clean guitar interludes.

Smooth hair, black lips, I start salivating as we kiss smiling forever.
