true... dude is from Scotland though, would make sense if he was down there with you!
guessing the release either got pushed back? he wanted less competition / thought his fans were diehard enough to not be 'seasonal'? / he doesn't give a shit and thought good music will prevail regardless OR the wildcard...
its a summery folk album

>I'm in that weird torn phase between a few albums, none of which I feel are this good and I should definitely focus on this more, think it may be really special
Oh, that's also a good phase.

They told me they love the first 3 Mike Oldfield albums. Which is explanation enough for me.

"Goshdarn Known World Narrows rules" [2]
around 3:48 it just starts Falls of Rauros'ing so hard. There's a lot of really magical moments like that sprinkled throughout, and I think the inclusion of the death metal riffage and vocals is a welcome addition personally

that's (4) in the last couple of pages, lol... although all worded slightly differently. Seems like it may be a popular pick here.

sod it, don't wanna be soft but I'm bumping this up
interesting / varied release, lots of cool ideas and influences executed very well. Known World Narrows might be my track of the year (or close to it). Certainly does enough to separate itself from the pack and is quite unlike 'Patterns'. Slow burn for the most part, take a little while to marinate.

Only thing I miss is more quiet parts. Vigilance really nailed those dynamics, esp Arrow and Kiln (best song ever).
All the songs here are relatively short and don't have time for that.
