Yeah it's certainly a difficult album in some circumstances. Definitely one to reserve for pleasant nature walks or lazy Sundays imo

I feel you, @Boney. Whenever I come across a thread where there's a lot of comments about something being boring, not a lot going on, etc. I always think "this might be for me". I seem to have an unusual tolerance for very chill or very depressing tunes.

Yeah this is brilliant. 'Behind My Eyes' immidiately clicked with me on first listen, and I enjoyed 'The Spaces in Between' and 'A Thousand Miles' as well, but my second listen has convinced me of the strength of the whole album. Probably already like this more than my AOTY last year.

Also "I seem to have an unusual tolerance for very chill or very depressing tunes." [2]

'Probably already like this more than my AOTY last year.'

...and the year before for me, so this is my favourite of the decade so far.

Also, we're a few weeks into the year and it'll take and all time top 60 album to drop for this to not end up my AOTY - I mean, I hope that happens, but it is unlikely

I'd almost be disappointed if that happened, however good the album in question was. Which is all rather silly thinking about it. I guess that's what happens when we divide everything into set periods with meaningless cut off points.

but yeah if this was released last year it'd already be a contender for the higher sports, for sure

Death by a million cuts at 80BPM.

I won't deny I hear some brilliance in this, but I can't get through a single track without feeling deeply conflicted about it.

I get what it's trying to do but when even a few songs overstay their welcome it just comes across as feeling so... bloated.

This has gotten incrementally less rewarding across each of my three listens, so imma 3.5 it, take my money and run

I don't wanna sound too harsh, but while there's a lot to like here, almost all of these songs have absolutely no business being as long as they are. With a severe trim, this could be a very fine album, but as it is, it's a chore to get through.
