WHERE ARE THE RIFFS ON THIS MOTHERF**KER?

Love the inclusion of noise elements, Ivo's drumming (which is crazier than ever), and the dementedness of the front man, but damn, the guitar parts are just sections from riffs found on past albums.

This could have been way better imo.

The chord-based approach is part of the reason why I like it to be honest, but I get it.

tbh this isn't the sort of style where riffs are the main feature to begin with.

Yeah this one is a tricky listen. Very good for what it is, but man I miss the craziness of the riffs from lowgazers

Agree. Complicated listen. I dig this band tho. Been with them since before Low Gazers …

Same, their first LP is still my favorite, wish they would bring back a bit of the post metal and converge influences from it. They’re a badass BM band too though.

Those influences transitioning into pure ambiance. Still there, but has taken a new form, primarily to let the electronics gnaw through the mix.

For sure, definitely get that take with this record. The drums are so fucked and off kilter that it’s made it hard for me to come back to this record, but it’s definitely effective for the overall atmosphere of it.

I listened to Lowgazers and then this and sometimes it seems like they heard one particular DSO guitar triad and ran with it. Both albums still absolutely rip though. The industrial and noise elements here feel very innovative for this kind of sound. Some parts are even reminiscent of late era Daughters.

I hope they build on this kind of sound and make it as abstract as possible lol

I hear you, wouldn’t be bad at all. I almost feel as if they found their true voice with this LP and I hope they nurture it and don’t leave it behind for some other style.
