Amulet title track is a banger. Not saying Amulet doesn't have its moments and I don't think it's bad, it just clearly isn't as adventurous as their other stuff

Yeah, it's pretty run of the mill for the most part

"juturna is best by a mile imo. one of the most magically trippy albums in the world. instrumental textures the entire record are out of this world and anthonys vox are the most hypnotic and mesmerizing theyve ever been"

I agree. Actually I'd put OLG along with Juturna as my favorite Circa Survive albums. I don't think they've ever managed to match the atmosphere there, and yes Anthony's vox are perfection in those two.

olg is like my 2nd least fav tbh lol for whatever reason it just feels a bit more basic and less interesting than a lot of their other stuff but it still rules. there isnt any circa i outright dislike (or any anthony green material really) just some thats less cool to me than others

also olg loses points for not having most dangerous commercials on it woulda been a highlight ez for me

Opinions on their discography can be polarizing, but yeah I never got why some people would love Juturna and then not favor OLG as much haha they sound cut from the same cloth to me. "The Difference...", "Living Together", "Mandala", "Your Friends are Gone" and "Carry Us Away" are top tier Circa.

I do agree the b-sides for OLG are awesome and honestly the same can be said for most of their leftover material.

its almost too cut from the same cloth, w the slight tweak being replacing the ethereal mystique w more straightforward rocky material, so to my ears its juturna minus what i like most about it swapped out for more basic songwriting lol. outside of carry us away all those songs are highlight for me tho (id sub carry us away for kicking your crosses down to list out my high points) its still like a 4-3.5 album. also props for shouting out mandala feel like ppl tend to underrate that one but right off the bat i loved it and still do

What weird takes onion. OLG does everything Juturna does but mostly better. Lower peaks but more consistent

Juturna and On Letting Go are their best imo and it's not even close

idk brother its j missin somethin to me particularly compared to juturna (again tho juturna is generally a pretty untouchable album in my eyes and nothing else from them can compare to it imo) still a solid album w a plethora of bangers on it tho. i do like it more now than i used to at least in high school

I'll continue listening because I've always enjoyed the band, but I feel very little from this EP

Even Better and Sleep Well are starting to pull away as my favorites. They're both such a vibe. All of the songs are fantastic though and they're only getting better with repeat listens. I get some major NIN vibes from Our Last Shot and the latter half of Drift is weirdly giving me some Random Access Memories vibes.

@onion - fair enough. Every time I listen to Juturna I feel like I don’t “get it” because I don’t hear what everyone else who loves it does haha. It’s a great album but nothing noteworthy for me.

I’m sure I’m doing it wrong 😞

it be like that sometimes my man. tbf it only rlly hit me once i got to college and my taste began kinda oriented around what sounds the best high lmao, which is juturna by a fuckin mile

in high school blue sky noise was my fav by a considerable margin altho in hindsight i find that one kinda patchy. all the appendage songs are fantastic tho
