Yeah To Be Everywhere was straightforward, but it was damn good. Hurricane is a top 5 Thrice song.

while i enjoyed palms, i understood the gripes and won't defend it except a few songs. not getting some of the hate for this though. it's pretty great front to back. my only minor complaints are the bridge in northern lights is just off for some reason and still life and dandelion wine feel like the are cut short. i really wish thrice would just write a 8-10 minute song for once. i am sure they are capable.

This album goes down real smooth. After 20 years, I'm still a huge Thrice fan apparently.

This has certainly grown on me. Might be their best since Beggars for me now.

Still Life is absolutely fantastic. Rest of the record is surprisingly nice too.

I can personally attest to preferring this mixing/production style over Palms and TBEITBN. I enjoy the fact that at moments Dustin's vocals become more atmospheric and blended into the soundscape. Those other two were a little more mixed like radio rock.

This is following the exact same pattern as the sophomore album from Idles. Shit went from a 2.5 to a 4/4.5 in a small matter of time.

Sure Buried in the Sun is still shit and Northern Light is very average. But The Dreamer, Still life and the singles grew hard.

Just a really strong album that feels pretty effortless. Not really a moment on here I don't enjoy

yeah, that's exactly where I'm at. I initially had it higher but it's kind of wore off but I feel like they are headed back in the right direction with this release. It seems like a course correction and I'm super stoked about where they go next. I really hope they got the radio-direction out of their blood. I hope they have another Vheissu tier record in them in the future.

people who think Thrice is ever going to revert to Vheissu/Alchemy Index type stuff are going to be sorely disappointed

Why did they change the vocal style so drastically for Beggars onwards? Was it a stylistic choice or a medical reason? Just suddenly started singing in this low, gritty rock voice when before his vocals soared quite high. I wonder if people just accepted the drastic change or if some fans jumped ship.

Is Vheissu considered to be like their magnus opus? Coz i remember listening to it at one time and hated it lol
