“Mutual Fear is what modern DGD should be.“
“Yeah but that sound doesn’t do “We Own The Night” numbers. Honestly I’ve drifted away from the band as a result of peak Tilian cringe. Call me a hater but some of his bars are way too juvenile for a 34 to be singing. Kinda wish they’d just hang it up and Jon Mess can commit to Secret Band and let Eidola get a bigger push in the scene.”
Well…I just listened to mutual fear and understanding the lyrics on first listen was very off putting. Eidola singers seems like a narcissistic meathead piece of shit. That is much more annoying than Tilian lyrics.

this was the most disappointing album that the scene hyped up. they've never sounded more by the numbers. I find Degenerraterra to be pretty boring at times but that at least felt unique throughout (and had incredible highlights, but besides that).
scene shoulda loved stolas like this, those dudes were fucking onto something with allomaternal

It’s gonna get pretty fuckin nuts if DGD starts incorporating this guy as a lead singer to go with Tilian and Mess.

that is definitely not going to happen, but he probably will get a few lines here and there

I'm not as huge on Andrew as most others seem to be but he's a good singer

im excited to hear more of him in dgd but ive definitely cooled on him overall. i still like his voice a lot but hes nothing special as a songwriter (w a handful of exceptions across the two before this but those albums are for sure too fat). feel like small doses of him, within a much better band no less, will work better than these full albums of him, plus evaporate is already the best track hes on/his best hook

From their instagram: "Recording for LP 5 is complete. Huge thank you to Mike Sahm for being an absolute legend, helping us create our favorite work to date. This last year has been a constant chaotic struggle, full of so much suffering and loss. The amount of pain we’ve each endured can only be mirrored by the personal growth we’ve experienced as a result. The world can be a vile place, full of lies, hatred, division, propaganda, addiction, and death. This album gave us an opportunity to sort through all of our fear, anger, pain, loss, and despair in a cathartic way that ultimately produced the darkest, heaviest, and most violent sounding material we’ve ever worked on. We will have more news of a release timeline going into next year, but for now we’re just happy that the recording process is finished, and grateful for anyone who continues to support us."

Relistened yesterday and was blown away by the quality of the first few tracks… but then all the sudden I was on song 8 or 9 and remembered the album was even playing. The music is good! … but it all sort of blends together and it’s increasingly difficult to pull out anything memorable or distinguishable from track to track.

I feel like this band would be a lot better if they didn't try so hard to sound like DGD.
