Disc 2 is better than Disc 1. Way more atmosphere.
However, someone needs to get Steve to stop recycling the mid section at 5:02 from When the Wild Wind Blows in every freaking song, man.

The short tracks are so much better on this album man.
Days of Future Past is so goooooood.

Couldn't get past the first 2 songs, utter snoozefest. I may give it a chance later but this doesn't sound promising at all

After one full listen and going back to a few songs for more, this absolutely destroys Final Frontier and Book of Souls.
Days of Future Past, Death of the Celts and Hell on Earth are absolutely top tier Maiden.

Stratego is really fun but man, the mix at times is so amateurish at points.
Gotta say though that this is really good in terms of songwriting, loving it.

Doesn't take away much at all for me, although it can feel a little excessive at times.
Honestly though, I loved Book of Souls but this feels like it has way more going on/more to dig into.

Lost in a Lost World has one of the most emotional Maiden outros ever, brilliant stuff.

Like Book of Souls, this rules.
Like the review says, they know they aren't gonna reinvent the wheel but they consistently find ways to just...rock. And they do it in a far more respectable way than AC/DC. Gonna need to give it a few more spins but 3.7ish seems about right. Great review

Another album where the guitar solos are all amazing, Maiden never write bad solos!

Only song that dragged for a little was The Parchment, the rest flew by.

For being 81 minutes, mostly every song on this is unique and doesn't lull at any point for me. This is solid.

Impressions after 2-3 listens: The first half really started to grew on me, title track, The Writing on the Wall, Lost in a Lost World are all major bangers. The second half is hard to digest (three 10 minute epic in a row, Jesus Christ Steve calm down) but Hell on Earth is a terrific closer. The mixing is the usual, the riffs and solos are very nice, there is just a natural flow the way these guys do this classic galopping epic metal. But Bruce's vocals sounded quite subdued at times even with his aged factored in. Overall, solid album.
