I think this is an album where the saminess of some of the fluff hurts it more than if it were just overlong, if this were as tight as their debut it would be better, but as it stands they're almost equals

The Ghost of Cinci channels Elliott Smith very well. Had to stop my run and check my phone to make sure the album hadn't somehow shifted to an Elliott album.

Yeah this deserves the bump to a 4.5. Phoenix and Renegade are my favourites, but this is really strong overall. Easy to Sabotage is such a jam as well.

I cannot keep attention running on this disc and it makes me sad as what I can hear is cool, but I think it's very samey samey and yeah brain is stupid. Magnolia and Ben Howard back to back is cool though and I don't mind one of the Taylor tunes.

Yeah I am verging towards a 2.8/3.0 just maybe 2.5 because of the waste of potential. The Ghost of Cincinnati is the best song here and I realized I have not heard the latter three because I don't remember any of the lyrics.

Yeah it is just frustrating with this much talent on this that it doesnt really go anywhere noteworthy, except maybe the lyrics, but good lyrics alone doesnt save this from being among the most forgettable things ive heard this year
