Yeah, yesterday was my first dose of BTBAM, Deafheaven, and WITTR. They all rule, but this is my favorite so far. Honestly, this one is better than any metal I've heard in years.

I’m not sure how I want to take that.

Take it as having a new ally on the metal front ;-) You'll see how difficult it is to get metal on the staff list this December. WITTR is excellent too, just need to spend more time with it (aka, don't worry babe, I still love you too < 3).

"Metal died in 1993BC. Only 12 good alloys have been discovered since then (most of them in 1000BC, being already worked in 1001BC). Metal achieved its malleable peak in alloys like bronze, silver and gold, elevating metalworking into a legitimate art form. Now, thanks to brass and stainless steel, all its potential was squandered and the discipline has been reduced into being mere gimmick ridden fodder for drunk construction workers (i.e. the lowest common denominator - stop trying to turn titanium girders into neo-gothic facades)."

I feel like the staff list might just have a distinct metallic edge this year

I've seen the opinion that BTBAM return to Colours for a cash grab, but weren't BTBAM always having chapters with their albums? Parallax I and II, Automata I and II, it's only natural that something like this would occure.

OG Colours is better but this is still fantastic. Revolution in Limbo is so good.

Excellent record. Sounds very fresh and mature while still having party horn and more included. It is less a Colors 2.0 and more a unique record with nods to Colors and a similar meaning to them as they have explained before.

Perfect description tbh. Nowhere near as heavy throughout as the first Colors, but it still absolutely lives up to its namesake.

If the first Colors makes this sound hollow then I need to hear it, but I somehow doubt that it will make me like this less. This shit slaps.

Never thought they could pull something like this again after the horrible Coma Ecliptic.

This is honestly fresh sounding.

Having such a blast with this album. Don't really know what to rate it tho.. It's a lot to digest.

after the horrible Coma Ecliptic

I like Coma Ecliptic tbh, everything after Alaska has been great, but I'm not into metalcore, so...
