That’s sick. It’s definitely worth checking out if you like post metal or sludge.

You know what I'll bump my score. I think the first song is actually really good and the last song is not too shabby either, the middle I don't really care for. I think my big hang up with post metal is that I don't really like a metal album full of slow songs, and I never really find the ambient textures in most post metal albums all that interesting. I think it's telling of me that my two favorite post metal albums are Neurosis' Enemy of the Sun and Through Silver and Blood, which were a lot more riff orientated then their later output (which I still think are great but I don't return to those albums all that often).

First time on any of the LPs where it feels like a good chunk of the quieter moments don't add much to the climaxes

Couldn't agree more honestly. This'd be a 4.5 for me but for how much empty space almost every track has.

Absolutely agree porc. Apart from the last track which is about 4 mins of quieter before the climax but yeah most of the spoken word parts are completely separate for me. That one in het gloren' just halts the whole song..although I think this album needs to be taken separately from the others and mass 7 will be more along those lines.

Oh wait they said there's still going to be a mass vii? If they singled this out specifically as a sort of side road then totally so much water under the bridge
