Every song but The Chant clicked for me. Nothing extraordinary by any means, but there are still some really good songs on here. Will be nice learning these songs without having to murder my legs. Thanks Mario.

I've only listened to it twice so far, and it has a great flow to it

Yes, it has. One of the things I find most interesting is its joyful, easy-listening vibe.

Yep. I feel like this is a very accessible metal album, in a good way. Something I could show my dad and he would most likely dig it

^Yes exactly. The reason I've invited my 60 y/o father to go to their show in September with me. I haven't been to metal concert with him since I was 14 (I'm mid 30s now). He's not a metal fan but he's a music fan. I know he'll enjoy the show. It'll be my first time seeing Gojira as well. Can't wait.

I feel like this is one of the few times I see an album getting a lot of shit for something that's not really that bad. Some of these songs remind me of old Gojira perfectly fine. I do think the production is a big issue for sure though and respectively Fortitude/The Chant are pretty awful. Another World is a pretty damn great track that I could see fitting on any of their records.

To be fair, it’s not getting THAT much shit. It still has a 3.5, which isn’t much lower than the previous albums, and I think it’s only certain groups of people who are really laying down the 1s and 2s. If anything, the reception reminds me a lot of how Magma was initially received

I mean, “Magma bad” is literally one of the most well-known Gojira memes by now, lol

I don't get the hate Magma gets, I feel like it's one of the more successful examples of an extreme metal band trying to be radio friendly. It's honestly my 2nd fav Gojira

I'd rank Magma just before this but it's still a great album and trounces this.

Magma is better in 2021 than it was in 2016

It's honestly quite impressive how no one likes The Chant
