Yeah, this one isn't going to stay a 3.5. They really know how to earn their grandiose moments.

@Baseline - Nice to see some Romanian people on Sputnik. Where are you exactly from?

imo this sounds like they said "Sorni Nai was pretty cool and critically acclaimed, what if we did that again?" and it ends up feeling a bit uninspired

So after multiple listens I have to say that I'd like to bump this album even higher but Sputnik is too strict, standing here as Gandalf and saying: "no! you shall not more than 5 this, darling"! Still - The greatest band ever. And the most consistent one. Number 2 is Thy Catafalque. And that's the truth. The objective truth.

ehhhh this is a band with such a distinct niche and sound that it makes sense that after 4 records of a reinvention in sound you could draw comparisons with each of them. i think this is a bit of an unfair comparison.

@Johnny It gets better with each listen. I thought it was good the first time but not living up to Sorni Nai, and while the latter is still a superior album I'm enjoying this one more and more.

Spring was a weird time to release an album like this. Revisit it in October or November and it might stick?

I love that this is a slight nod back to Sorni Nai, but without such a sinister overtone. I do think this would be more at home in the winter as well. Raivo is up their with Kauan's best tracks and the last three tracks in general are fantastic. My only complaint is that it takes a bit to get going.
