yeah, i can see that. 'maricón' has acquired connotations relating to being cowardly thru time, but the original meaning of the word is pretty clear everywhere imo

well, yea, that's language for ya... I just don't see "maricon" as aggressively insulting as "puto", in most situations, at least. I'm no slur expert lol
