connecting to NMH is not a huge challenge
but i think it does demand the emotional maturity to differentiate existential angst from myopic pubescent stew, and i'd probably call it an early 20s classic if i'd bothered with it in my early 20s
which begs/answers questions etc

i mean if this is like NMH its like them but actually good as opposed to pure rym hipstercore. at least nmh is better than trout mask replica.

sometimes I wish I was enough of a poser to just blend in and conform to every popular opinion here so people wouldn't be at my throat every day but we can't always get what we want

also cormano i wouldn't speak when you have not only car seat headrest but also brand new in your 5's

cormano's 5slist is at once similar enough and infinitely superior to yours that dunking on it is a poor look all round
it does have precisely two unforgivable inclusions wanna see how many own goals you manage to shoot before you find them?

Hmm let's see the rest....
Wrong Slowdive album, unless that TVU is way tighter than the Nico album that's a no, Oasis is fine but not a 5, based TBS, based Converge, based Early November, based Black Parade, based Death Cab...

lowkey it's just how corm's 5s read like mostly peak "rym approved cuts", i'm more shocked there's no black midi or bcnr than by anything here.

Venin I looked at the Spotify list you posted and I’m now obligated to pop in here and reiterate that World Around Me by ETF is trash

@Feather: to each their own but I personally think the piano arrangement is absolutely serene, Craig's vocal performance is wonderful and elevates the song to the emotional peak it's going for, and the direct lyrics serve the song just as well as whatever laced in 500 metaphors stuff people have tried to tell me to like would have instead.

even if you boneheadedly want to claim that their best albums are somehow 'better' there is no way in hell trash like danger days is better than basically any album that manages to stay in key for 50% of its songs
