Honestly I'm hoping for it to be not a 3.8 just to see people cry and scream over it lmao

I don't know if it's just Spotify compressing it but the mixing doesn't sound great

FLAC is the way to go, Spotify can be suspect at times.

If the average of this stays at a 4.0, their discography will have a 3.8 average.

Damn, they truly are the 3.8 demigods.

I like the sound of that

that's actually funnier than trying to make this album a 3.8

So Long Mother Earth, Mars Simula, Self Destructor and Piistol Star have quickly become some of my favorite Chevelle songs

I think I only listened to the album that has the song Red or something, back in the days, but nothing since. This is making me curious to check them out.

Looking forward to checking this out. There's no way this is better than "Wonder What's Next", but hopefully I'm wrong.

It's not. But it is better than Sci-fi Crimes, Hats Off, and North Corridor.

Yea I really only listened to "Wonder What's Next" and "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)". I maybe listened to "Vena Sera" one time, don't remember it. "Sci-fi Crimes" is the last one I ever listened too. It wasn't bad, I just felt they lost the passionate anger aspect that was so appealing to me way back then.

This one isn't angry at all. Check out Gargola! That one is pretty heavy and angry.

i think what makes these guys so great is their unwavering quality, every single album is consistent and you know what you're getting with each listen
takes a special band to accomplish that

I just finished listening to it. I guess it's alright, I'll probably never listen to it again, just not my taste. I'll check out Gargola and North Corider. I guess you can only have a Tool worship band for so long until you have to switch it up.

I kinda hate this
