My comments were better in the past, they truly felt genuine, now I'm a try hard and tbh I don't even care much about anything so I just come out as salty.

This LP is truly trash tho, true Autechre fans are harsh af with this band. In my books anyone who gives them only 4 stars+ is just insecure about his IQ because they think of AE as a synonym for intellectual music, which is just lame. For me it's a 3.2 stars at best after five spins, definitely a step down compared to the elseq series, which was a 3.8 as a whole.

3.2 is still a good rating though

All I can say as someone with little familiarity with their past work is that this is good, I like it, I'm still listening to it.

This definitely has some utility as an introductory album IMO. Recommending people starting out with Amber or Tri but having to qualify it with "it sounds nothing like their later stuff tho" was kinda grating. This at least fills a niche in that its modern sound is more in line with their abstract late-2000s-2010s stuff.
