I kinda wish she made alternate track listings for each of the additional deluxe versions... might have to do that myself for fun

Here's what I've come up with, minus a few of the tracks I think could have been cut.
1. The 1
2. Last Great American Dynasty (Cardigan is too much of an emotional blow for 2nd song)
3. Cardigan
4. My Tears Ricochet
5. Mirrorball
6. Illicit Affairs
7. Betty
8. Seven
9. August
10. This Is Me Trying
11. Epiphany
12. Invisible String
13. Peace
14. Exile
That'd be a solid 4.5 record.

it'd require a full remix to fix. songs are too vox-centric for the instrumentation to have any emotional heft which is really what you need here.

I'm sure it's not for everyone but I thought "the last great american dynasty" was absolutely fantastic and probably the album's highlight. Instrumentally and lyrically it displayed exactly what I was hoping for from a collaboration project on this scale and with these particular songwriters/producers.

[2] Last Great American Dynasty is one of the best on here

press F to pay respect to Folklore's metacritic score / i find the album curiously unfocused and rich in ideas that don't quite gel sufficiently. rarely have i heard an album with such potential squandered by frankly bizarre vocal choices, lyrics that don't fit the backing music and hooks lacking bait. ...production is LUSH tho
|
| |
Tbh this was gonna get a super high score on metacritic pretty much no matter what. This was about as safe as a risk could get for Taylor
That said though, I’m absolutely on board with it. Easily my favorite work from her so far.
