This is basically a weaker version of The Fame/Fame Monster and Born This Way. They all have the same repetitive, monotonous electro-disco dance-pop formula, but those first two albums worked because the hooks were so strong and Gaga's personality was so bold that you could've scored many of those songs to rhythmic farts and made hits. Chromatica is basically those albums with far weaker hooks, and I really think Gaga has outgrown that persona to really sell it anymore. I'll be in the minority for preferring Artpop and Joanne with their diverse exploration of different styles and sounds. Chromatica sounds like one song with umpteen minor variations. It's still fun, but unlike most all the other female pop albums recently--Charli, Hayley, Carly--it leaves a really bland aftertaste.
