there’s little to no proof of that

Yeah true tbh, this band are conspiracy theory invented by people who wanted Thrice to be a better band last decade. No-one has ever listened to them (I listened to OK Computer at the literal same time as Pain is Beauty to write this rev)

O'Brother has unquestionably put out better stuff than Thrice in the 2010's but it's still not as good as what Thrice did with Artist-Vheissu-Alchemy-Beggars

Wait, what? Major/Minor exists and is probably one of the best Thrice records.

Garden Window and Disillusion are comfortably better than M/M, and this + Endless Light are about on par imo. But then again, Beggars is stronger than any O'Bro from Disillusion onward...RIP '00s Thrice
Having let this sink in a bit more, there are definitely a couple of tracks I don't care for, mainly Slipping. That chorus lyric is an annoying Reznorism and I don't like it lol. Rest mostly holds up

If I had to pick one weak link it'd be "Halogen Eye," just because a lot of the elements in it are used better later on in the album, but I have to admit its placement in the sequencing is quite on point and makes it seem better than it is

From what I recall Major/Minor had a very positive reception here but I get the feeling that it's fallen out of favour with a lot of the userbase. I've gone in the opposite direction. I found it very disappointing on release but I've warmed to it a lot recently. Might be my second favourite Thrice. I definitely prefer it to anything I've heard from O'Brother though I haven't listened to this new one yet.
