This website is the epitome of an echo chamber. It's a collection of people who circlejerk over the same niche genres and decry anything that strays from the "acceptable" boundaries. There's some weird elitism surrounding these genres where if a band starts having a broader appeal then it's no longer good. Which btw, the idea that this album is somehow mainstream/pop now is laughable and shows how far removed this website is from mainstream music listeners, but I digress. Just because a band changes style doesn't mean they've sold out; just because you don't like it anymore doesn't mean it's bad. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just don't try and pass it off like it's some objective position which is essentially what reviews on this website have become.

I can understand AnimatedLegend
when this band released discovering the waterfront back in 2005, I visited sput and other blogs, I remembered it clear that lots of fans felt betrayed as they turned out to be melodic and called them "popcore". was 15 years ago when i was a kiddie and was a fan of melodic tunes. to me it is like 15 years later, they did that again. and in between, they were pretty successful.

I'd agree with that sentiment. But this album is still shit.

Their style still has wide appeal with the younger demographics, especially with the renewed interest in emo and scene culture going on. They didnt need to make this yo stay relevant

"renewed interest in emo and scene culture going on" lol what. if youre talking about those tiktok eboy/egirl kids, i'm pretty sure they don't listen to silverstein lol.

I saw them live in London back in February (mainly because they were playing Discovering the Waterfront in full). I thought Burn It Down sounded pretty good live, but it doesn't hold up as well on the recording.
I'm guessing from the comments that this album isn't worth a listen. Also the band were offering paid meet and greet packages on that tour. I don't think Silverstein are big enough to be doing that considering that they can easily walk around London without anyone knowing who they are.

paid meet and greets blow unless they come with something actually cool like an acoustic performance

It was literally just a photo op, a T Shirt, and a poster. All for £30 more than standard entry. If it wasn’t for them doing Waterfront in full, I wouldn’t have gone out of protest of the M&G package
