Have to relisten, but at first go I really am not feeling this very much. Which is disappointing because I loved Skylight. This just feels kind of devoid of energy, whereas Cardinal had the pop punk and Skylight had the tight country going on.
Just read the Pitchfork review, which mirrors a lot of my feelings on it tbh.

Also if you listen to everything so far like the latter half (& and Meridian) a lot of the songs were much slower, winding in nature, and had an almost aimless feel to them. They've definitely always had this in them, Marigold is just a much more refined and tighter version of it imo.
