Yeah, I know it probably won't be my fav Jimmy but it's been a blast obsessing over it: checking reddit, seeking out live clips of new songs, binging their discography, wearing out the singles. It feels good to anticipate an album from my favourite band, even though it's possible that it could end up in the middle of their discography when the wait is over.

Didn't know this was your favorite band! They're up there for me too, hence why the 4.3 with it still ranking outside my top 5 in their discography, lol. Was also just trying to create some anti-hype to make the next few days easier for ya'll. ;-)

Yep, this band is very near and dear to me. Discovered Bleed American as an angsty and dissatisfied teen (who could only listen to Contemporary Christian Music at the time) and it pretty much changed my life. It almost singlehandedly shaped my musical taste and identity and it's still in my top twenty records of all-time.



I didn't check their others until about a year later. Futures was next after picking it up blindly from a music store. I slowly accumulated their other records, made some incredible memories with them, and the rest is history.

Feel the same man. Got into them in 2001. Ever since, everyone knew me as "the Jimmy Eat World guy". My nickname growing up among all my friends since 2001 has been "minty" (based on my love of the song Lucky Denver Mint... I guess they decided Jewy wasn't appropriate lol). The band has been one of the few constants in my life.

This confuses me a little as well. I suppose it's not impossible that others know someone with a promo, but I haven't shared my promo with anyone, so it's also possible that some users are just rating ahead of time for some reason (which is of course silly).

I check 2-3 times per day for leaks when anticipating an album and promos are flying around, but unfortunately I'm getting used to them popping up only 1 day before release so...I just wait now.

hard to tell how this will be received IMO; I'm such a sucker for their slow atmospheric ballads that this registered as "great, not amazing" in my book

I was only able to find the studio version of "555". It's... ok, I guess. An electro-pop song with a modern feel. If that's the worst song of the album then I'm sure I'll enjoy this.

In other news, iTunes just uploaded an "Extended Version" of CTL with 4 b-sides (still no inclusion of Open Bar Reception which is a bummer) and a Deluxe Version of Invented including the studio version of Anais. I wish they eventually release a deluxe version of Futures with all of the b-sides as well.
